You can rely on Kairos Outdoor Living to keep your pavers in quality shape in the years ahead. For routine cleaning:

  2. For very dirty pavers, add some detergent to the water mix to dislodge dirt. Scrub with a push broom, and rinse with a garden hose.

Pros & Cons of Sealing Pavers

Pros of regular sealing:

  • Protects pavers against stains and the elements.

  • Enhances the color and protects pavers from fading.

  • Protects pavers from moss and weeds.

  • Helps stabilize the jointing sand.

Cons:

  • Comes with an expense as quality sealants ensure longevity.

  • Needs to be repeated every two to three years.

Treating Stains

Stains should be treated as soon as possible since or the risk of deeper penetration will occur. For particularly difficult stains, replacement of the affected pavers may be the best solution.

Joint Sand

Paver installations exposed to driving winds or runoff may lose some joint sand that can be simply replenished.

Color & Wear

The color of pavers will gradually change over time due to the elements. Sealing moderates the rate of color change.

Weeds & Ants

Weeds can germinate between pavers from windblown seeds lodged in the joints and can be removed by hand or with herbicides. Sealers can prevent seeds from germinating as well as ants from digging into and dislodging jointing sand.

Efflorescence

Efflorescence is caused by vapor migrating through the slab and bringing soluble salts to the surface of the concrete. While efflorescence typically goes away on its own, stubborn cases can be addressed through a mild acid rinse or light sandblasting.

Utility Repairs

Your beautiful paver features can be preserved even when underground repairs are necessary. If you must access utilities under your pavers, please call us to remove and reinstall the pavers.

Damage

In the event any damage occurs to your new pavers, please contact us to diagnose the problem. Attempting to fix the problem yourself may void the warranty.
